Anurag Kashyap To Direct A Bhojpuri Film?
He is well-known for his takes on the badlands of Uttar Pradesh and now Anurag Kashyap will helm a film in the region's language
The moffusil towns of northern India were the background
to Anurag Kashyap's biggest hits, the Gangs of Wasseypur films. And if industry
sources are to be believed, Anurag is returning to the badlands once again.
But this time it will not be a Hindi film. Sources
claim that the filmmaker is venturing into Bhojpuri films. He will be directing
a Bhojpuri film with Vineet Kumar Singh in the lead. Anurag has already worked
with Vineet on several films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Bombay Talkies and Ugly.

A source told SpotboyE.com, “Grapevine whispers claimed
that Anurag is directing a Bhojpuri film back in 2014 too, but it’s happening
now. He is making a Bhojpuri film based on a boxer’s life.”
Now that interest in regional cinema is at its peak, it
looks like Anurag too wants a bite of the pie. When contacted Anurag remained
unavailable for comment.
